Joanne Perold
Most people call me Jo.
I make it ok to be you.
That's not a small thing. Most professional spaces ask you to be a managed version of yourself. Competent, composed, certain. I create spaces where you can show up exactly as you are. Uncertain and stretching, or confident and ready to go deeper. Both are welcome here.
I didn't arrive here in a straight line.
I started in software, configuring HR and payroll systems for large organisations. It was frustrating and rewarding in equal measure, and it taught me that process and environment will only get you so far, and sometimes not very far at all. What actually moves things is people being different. Not doing differently. Being different. And that starts with leaders.
That insight led me on a path through agile, complexity and organisational change, to a conference that changed everything, where I first encountered the work of Virginia Satir and realised I'd found the model that spoke to exactly that. I've spent the last decade learning and applying that model, integrating organisational change, complexity and leadership development. The last three years intensively.
What twenty years of working with teams and organisations gave me, alongside the knowledge, is the ability to hold space. With presence. With quiet. With safety. People tell me that even when the work is hard, even when it's vulnerable or stretchy or uncomfortable, it feels ok. That's my magic. I don't put myself above people. I stand alongside them.
I'm also pragmatic and adaptable. If something isn't working, I change it.
The lineage:
Twenty years working with teams and organisations.
A decade of teaching and applying the Satir model.
